Leadership, Relationship and Empathy: TRAVELSAVERS Owner Focus Meeting Sets Optimistic Stage for New Year and Upcoming 50TH Anniversary Conference

OYSTER BAY, NY (December 15, 2020) – Demonstrable leadership, longstanding relationship and the power of empathy are the qualities successful agency owners will require as they approach the New Year according to powerful presentations at this year’s Owner Focus Meeting (OFM).  Held virtually the first time earlier this month, the annual retreat orchestrated by premier travel marketing organization TRAVELSAVERS, in partnership with sister company The Network for of Entrepreneurs Selling Travel (NEST), is open expressly to member independent travel agency owners across the US and Canada and designed to embolden owners to meet the challenges and opportunities of the year ahead.

 

Speaking on the responsibility of leadership, former President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Andy Stuart reminded the audience of 300 managing employees in a time of Covid, “If you’re struggling to deal with it, think about your teams, they are also struggling,” he said.  Bestselling author and travel agent celebrity Michael Vickers told owners to focus on relationship. “When tough times exist, companies focus on results more than ever.  It is important that you find the balance between their needs and yours.   Customers need to know that they mean everything to you.  This is the time for you to be Jerry Maguire (the movie) to your customers,” he said. 

 

Oceania’s Cathy Denroche concluded the two-day event with an impassioned call to empathy claiming that, “the way forward is to boldly look at who we are and understand our role within the industry.”

Looking Ahead: TRAVELSAVERS Announces 50th Anniversary Celebration Location
